As part of their continued success and expansion an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Process Engineer to join their operations in Equatorial Guinea, West Africa.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB
Responsible for providing process technology services for the LNG plant Operations and for the new projects. The process engineer provides quality engineering services conducting process audits and recommends operational and design changes to improve efficiency, productivity, safety, cost savings and technology updates. He has a key role in the commissioning, start-up and operation of the LNG trains and will be engaged in the day-to-day plant operations activities
FIELDS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Support Company Safety, Environment and Security policies and programs, and carry out specific duties and responsibilities related to Process Technology.
Provide environmental monitoring services to HESS and establish calculation procedures to report environmental discharges on the frequency established by Operations and HES Management.
Play a key role in the commissioning, start-up and operation of the LNG plant, working with EPC contractor, process Licensors and Operations personnel.
Monitor day-to-day Process and Utilities Operations in the LNG plant and design and implement special testing programs as necessary to anticipate, evaluate and resolve process problems.
Assist Plant Operations to maintain smooth operation, ensure product quality and optimize Unit Operations.
Conduct process studies and preliminary process design for minor and major plant modifications and changes.
Participate in HAZOP studies for new LNG trains and for all proposed plant and field modifications with representatives from Operations, Maintenance, Safety and Inspection.
Share operating knowledge and lessons learned with project teams during design phase of new LNG trains.
Deputise for the Sr. Process Engineer during his absence and undertake the supervision of laboratory personnel.
Conduct operational and performance tests of process units as well as overall plant test
Coach, mentor, or otherwise help to improve the knowledge and skills of EG Nationals.
Assist managing the Section’s Capex and Opex budgets within the agreed targets.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Chemical engineering degree Minimum of 8 years experience in the oil, petrochemical or LNG industry. Experience in the commissioning & start-up, Operation and optimization of LNG or Gas plants. Education, training and/or experience related to Process engineering.
Knowledge and capabilities in process simulations and other engineering tools Knowledge and capabilities in plant troubleshooting, testing and optimization methodologies Planning, organization, and control skills Teamwork and communication skills
